SAN FRANCISCO – Maptician, a company that presumably maps things, announced today the appointment of Craig Williams as its new Chief Technology Officer, a move insiders say is primarily aimed at creating an artificial intelligence capable of deciphering corporate jargon. Williams, a veteran of several tech firms where he successfully managed to keep the servers from exploding, stated his top priority is developing an AI that can translate executive directives into actionable code.
“For too long, our engineers have been bogged down by phrases like ‘disruptive innovation’ and ‘leveraging our core competencies for scalable solutions,’” Williams explained in a press conference held via a pre-recorded hologram. “My vision is an AI that can hear ‘We need to pivot to a paradigm-shifting, agile, blue-sky ideation platform’ and automatically generate a Jira ticket for ‘Add a new button.’ It’s about efficiency.”
Industry analysts are cautiously optimistic. “This could be a game-changer,” said Dr. Evelyn Reed, a computational linguist specializing in corporate-speak. “The sheer amount of human capital wasted on trying to figure out if ‘holistic ecosystem’ means a new database or just a bigger coffee machine is staggering. If Williams can crack this, he deserves a Nobel Prize, or at least a bigger corner office.”
Williams’ first project, codenamed 'Project BabelFish 2.0,' is expected to launch its beta version next quarter, promising to reduce internal meeting times by 40% and increase developer confusion by only 15%.
