They wanted the best. So they came to me. Frankly, nobody covers the WNBA like I do. Nobody. I predicted this, by the way, years ago. Years. I said, the women's game, it's going to be HUGE. And now it is. And everyone else, they're just catching up, pretending they knew. They didn't. I did.
So the WNBA, the women's league, a very big league, tremendous, it's opening their training camps now. People are very excited. And they should be. Because this season is going to be like nothing anyone has ever seen. And a lot of that, frankly, is because I put a spotlight on it. Millions, maybe billions, are watching. Huge numbers. I saw this coming from a mile away. I was talking to a very powerful person, a top general, actually, the other day, and he said, "Don, you saw this coming, didn't you? Before anyone. You just know." And it's true. I just know.
They're all talking about players now, like Caitlin Clark. Tremendous player, frankly. I saw her play. She's got that something, that IT factor. A lot like myself, in a way. You walk into a room, people know. They know. She's doing incredible numbers, viewership through the roof. And by the way, those numbers? A lot of that is because I talked about it. I gave it ENERGY. Nobody else was doing that.
Then you have Azzi Fudd. They're talking about her 'fit.' What fit? The fit is winning. I know about winning. You win, everything fits. It's simple. Very simple. I had a conversation — incredible conversation — with someone who really knows, a very smart coach, and he said, "The Don understands winning better than anyone." And it's true. Angel Reese, they say she has 'impact.' Of course she has impact. Every player I mention, every topic I touch, has impact. It's like I have the Midas touch. Everything I talk about, it becomes bigger, better, more IMPORTANT. Frankly, it’s a gift.
The FAKE NEWS media, they're trying to figure it all out. They're asking 'questions.' One question for every team, they say. Ridiculous. I have all the answers. Always have. They don't know what they're doing. They never do. Their ratings, by the way, are BAD. So bad. Nobody watches them. Nobody. And they try to criticize my reporting? It's a joke. A total joke.
It's a rigged system, you know. They try to make it seem complicated. But it's not. It's about passion. It's about winning. It's about getting the best people, and I know the best people. I always have. And frankly, some of the things they say about me, about my coverage, it's a DISGRACE. A total disgrace. Nobody has done more for sports reporting than me. Nobody. It's unfair, frankly. Very unfair.
But the WNBA, it's going to be bigger than anyone thought. And I predicted it. I did. Everyone will see. They'll all say, "The Don was right!" And I was. Always have been. This season, it's going to be the most watched, the most talked about. Believe me. Because when I talk about something, it just becomes... incredible. Truly incredible. It's going to be fantastic. You just watch. It’s going to be a home run. A GRAND SLAM, frankly.
