SEOUL — In a groundbreaking move that redefines international pop music partnerships, global phenomenon BTS has announced that mandatory military service, previously a requirement only for its South Korean members, will now extend to all foreign artists who collaborate with the group. The new policy comes hot on the heels of actress Lili Reinhart’s appearance in the music video for 'SWIM,' the lead single from the band’s latest album, 'ARIRANG.'
“It’s only fair,” stated a spokesperson for Big Hit Entertainment, speaking on condition of anonymity while polishing a row of highly reflective combat boots. “When you join the BTS family, you join the full BTS experience. That includes the rigorous training, the communal living, and the deeply meaningful commitment to national defense. We believe Ms. Reinhart will find the camaraderie of the demilitarized zone quite enriching.”
Sources close to the production indicated that Reinhart, known for her role in The CW’s 'Riverdale,' was initially under the impression her involvement would be limited to interpretive dance and looking wistfully into the middle distance. She is reportedly now undergoing an expedited, yet still comprehensive, two-year training program focusing on tactical maneuvers and advanced K-pop choreography under duress.
“We’re confident this will set a new standard for artistic dedication,” the spokesperson added, adjusting a camouflage-patterned beret. “Imagine the depth of emotion she’ll bring to her next performance after spending a winter guarding a heavily fortified border. It’s method acting, but with actual methods.”
Industry analysts predict a sharp decline in unsolicited collaboration requests from Hollywood, though several aspiring TikTok stars have reportedly already begun preemptive push-up regimens.
