NEW YORK, NY — In a groundbreaking industry shift, Broadway producers have collectively announced the creation of a new, mandatory 'Authenticity Consultant' position for all future productions. The move, described as a 'necessary safeguard,' comes in the wake of Grammy-winning artist Megan Thee Stallion's recent casting in *Moulin Rouge! The Musical*.
“We’ve always prided ourselves on the illusion, the spectacle, the carefully constructed artifice,” explained veteran producer Arthur P. Fancypants, adjusting his monocle. “But with Ms. Stallion bringing, shall we say, *unfiltered reality* to the stage, we realized we needed a dedicated role to help the rest of the cast and crew cope. It’s a lot of realness for one stage.”
The Authenticity Consultant, according to a leaked internal memo, will be responsible for “de-escalating genuine emotion,” “re-introducing theatricality where organic talent has inadvertently taken root,” and “ensuring no performer accidentally conveys a truly authentic human experience that might confuse our patrons.” Initial training for the consultants will reportedly include workshops on 'How to Fake It Better' and 'The Art of the Believable Lie.'
“It’s about maintaining brand integrity,” added Fancypants. “Our audiences expect a certain level of polished, manufactured escapism. Megan is fantastic, but her raw power could accidentally make our other performers seem… well, like they’re just acting. We can’t have that.”
Industry insiders suggest the role may expand to other sectors, with Hollywood studios reportedly eyeing similar positions to manage the unexpected emergence of talent in superhero franchises.
Sources close to the production indicate Megan Thee Stallion has already begun her own 'Authenticity Consultant' work, reportedly teaching other cast members how to properly use their knees.
