CUPERTINO, CA – Following the critical buzz around its latest series featuring 'imperfect women,' Apple TV+ has announced an aggressive slate of 17 additional dramas, thrillers, and prestige comedies, all centered on the revolutionary premise that women are, in fact, not flawless beings.
“For too long, the entertainment landscape has presented an unrealistic ideal of female perfection,” stated Apple TV+ Head of Content, Blake Harrington, during a pre-recorded keynote address. “Our data shows a significant market demand for stories where women occasionally make questionable choices, experience self-doubt, or even, dare I say, forget to water their houseplants. It’s a bold new direction.”
The upcoming titles include 'She Forgot Her Keys,' a gripping limited series about a woman who leaves her apartment without her keys, 'The Stain,' a dark comedy following a high-powered executive who spills coffee on her white blouse, and 'Just A Little Bit Tired,' an eight-part docu-drama exploring the existential exhaustion of a mother of two.
Industry analysts are hailing the move as a paradigm shift. “This is unprecedented,” commented Dr. Evelyn Reed, Chair of Fictional Character Studies at the University of Southern California. “To portray women with the same complex, often messy internal lives as, say, a male anti-hero who murders people and runs a meth empire? It’s almost too much for audiences to handle.”
Apple confirmed that all 17 new shows will feature at least one scene where a female character sighs audibly, signifying the immense burden of being less than perfect. Each series will also be accompanied by a 30-minute companion podcast dissecting the nuanced imperfections of the lead character, hosted by a male academic.
The streaming service is reportedly already developing a spin-off universe where these imperfect women might, on occasion, even be slightly rude to a barista.
