MIAMI BEACH – Organizers of Miami's official World Cup fan festival today unveiled details of their highly anticipated 'Authentic Local Experience,' designed to give global football enthusiasts a taste of Miami without the inconvenience of interacting with actual Miami. The curated zone will feature meticulously arranged inflatable palm trees, a 'beach' made from imported, pre-sifted sand, and a menu boasting $18 mojitos and 'Cuban-inspired' empanadas crafted by a multinational catering conglomerate.
“We understand that international visitors want to feel like they’re truly experiencing Miami,” stated Brenda Rodriguez, Director of Global Fan Engagement for the event, in a press release. “That’s why we’ve gone to great lengths to distill the essence of this vibrant city into a safe, controlled, and easily digestible package. No unexpected cultural encounters, no confusing local dialects – just pure, unadulterated, corporate-sponsored Miami.”
The festival will also include a 'local artisan' market selling mass-produced souvenirs and a 'historic district' photo booth featuring green-screened backdrops of iconic Miami landmarks. Attendees are encouraged to share their 'authentic' experiences on social media using the hashtag #RealMiamiVibes.
One local resident, who wished to remain anonymous, commented, “It’s like they built a theme park ride about Miami, then put it inside a bigger theme park ride about football. I just hope they remembered to include the constant construction noise.”
Tickets for the 'Authentic Local Experience' start at $75, not including the mandatory 'cultural preservation fee' or the 'convenience charge for not having to leave the festival grounds.'
