WASHINGTON D.C. — A leading progressive think tank today announced its latest and most ambitious policy platform: simply being right about everything. The new strategy, detailed in a 300-page manifesto titled 'Infallibility: A Guide for the Modern Progressive,' aims to streamline governance by eliminating the need for debate, negotiation, or the arduous process of admitting error.
“For too long, progressive politics has been bogged down by the messy realities of diverse opinions and empirical evidence,” stated Dr. Evelyn Thorne, lead author and Senior Fellow of Unassailable Truths at the Institute for Unquestionable Progress. “Our research indicates that the most efficient path to societal betterment is to ensure that all progressive positions are, by definition, correct. This saves valuable time and resources that can then be reallocated to celebrating our correctness.”
The initiative reportedly began after a series of focus groups revealed that the public, regardless of political affiliation, generally prefers leaders who are always right. “It’s a universally appealing concept,” explained Thorne. “Who wants to be wrong? Nobody. So, we’re just cutting out the middleman and declaring our inherent correctness from the outset.”
Critics from across the political spectrum were quick to dismiss the policy as 'unrealistic' and 'delusional,' but the Institute remained unfazed. “Such criticisms merely underscore the urgent need for this policy,” a spokesperson noted. “They clearly haven't grasped the core tenet: we are right, by design.” The think tank plans to roll out a series of educational webinars on 'How to Be Right, All the Time' later this fiscal quarter, exclusively for progressive lawmakers.
Future plans include developing a 'Rightness Index' to quantify the inherent correctness of all future progressive legislation, ensuring a perfect score every time.
