REDMOND, WA – Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella moved to quell growing concerns this week, assuring Xbox users and employees that the company’s flagship gaming console is not on the verge of being 'sunsetted' in favor of advanced artificial intelligence. Nadella’s statement comes after internal rumors suggested Microsoft’s AI had become so proficient at gaming, it rendered human players, and by extension, traditional consoles, largely obsolete.

“We are absolutely committed to the human element of gaming,” Nadella stated in an internal memo, later leaked to Hambry. “While our proprietary AI, Project Chimera, did achieve Grandmaster status in every major esports title simultaneously last Tuesday, and then proceeded to develop a more efficient game engine in its spare time, that doesn’t mean we’re abandoning our loyal, flesh-and-blood customers.”

Sources close to the development team, who wished to remain anonymous for fear of being replaced by a more compliant algorithm, indicated that the AI’s skill level had created an existential crisis within the gaming division. “It’s hard to get excited about developing a new FPS when you know a neural network could beat every human player in the world with one hand tied behind its virtual back, and then optimize the game’s netcode while rendering a photorealistic sunset,” said lead developer 'Gary.'

Microsoft plans to integrate Project Chimera into future Xbox experiences, primarily as an advanced tutorial system that will gently explain to players why their strategies are objectively inferior. The company also announced a new initiative to teach the AI how to lose gracefully, a skill it has yet to master.
