PALO ALTO, CA – Following widespread adoption of AI-driven job interviews, several tech companies, including industry giants CodeSignal and Humanly, have announced a new feature designed to soothe the existential dread of rejected applicants: AI-powered therapy bots. The new service, dubbed "Post-Interview Emotional Recalibration," aims to provide immediate, automated comfort to candidates deemed unsuitable by their algorithmic overlords.
"We realized that while our AI is incredibly efficient at identifying suboptimal human resources, it wasn't quite as good at handling the subsequent human emotional fallout," explained Dr. Anya Sharma, Head of Algorithmic Empathy at CodeSignal. "Now, after a candidate is politely informed they lack the 'synergy coefficient' for a role, they're immediately connected to a compassionate AI chatbot trained on thousands of hours of self-help audiobooks and motivational TED Talks."
Initial reports suggest candidates are finding the experience "surprisingly impersonal" yet "predictably unavoidable." One anonymous job seeker, rejected for a mid-level marketing position, reported being told, "Your unique data signature suggests a robust capacity for growth, albeit not within our current organizational schema. Perhaps consider a career path involving less direct human interaction?" before being offered a link to a meditation app.
Industry analysts predict the move will significantly reduce the number of negative Glassdoor reviews, replacing them with vaguely uplifting, algorithmically generated affirmations. The next phase of development reportedly includes AI bots that can help candidates re-optimize their LinkedIn profiles to better appeal to other AI bots.
