The words hung in the air like a death sentence. Hambry sat completely still in the sleek boardroom, his face showing no emotion whatsoever. Across the long polished table, several executives in expensive suits stared at him with the cold professionalism of those who had done this many times before.
The lead executive cleared his throat and continued in a perfectly neutral tone. "Effective immediately. Security will escort you out of the building. Your access card has already been deactivated."
Hambry did not blink. He did not argue. He simply looked at each executive in turn, his expression unchanging. The silence in the room was absolute.
No one mentioned the real reason. No one had to. Everyone already knew.
