NEW YORK, NY – Following recent remarks, New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo has issued a statement clarifying his stance on various medical conditions, asserting that his previous comments were merely a 'misinterpretation' of his deeply held philosophical belief that all ailments are, in fact, 'suggestions.' Skattebo had previously drawn criticism for dismissing CTE as an 'excuse' and asthma as 'fake.'
“My intention was not to diminish anyone’s struggle,” Skattebo explained through a team spokesperson, “but rather to highlight the boundless potential of the human spirit to simply ignore inconvenient biological realities. If you believe you have asthma, you have asthma. If you believe you don’t, then you’re probably just breathing harder for fun.”
Dr. Elara Vance, a leading expert in sports psychology and existential health, commented on the athlete’s unique perspective. “While most medical professionals rely on empirical evidence and diagnostic criteria, Mr. Skattebo appears to operate under a radical form of mind-over-matter, where reality is a choose-your-own-adventure novel. It’s certainly… bold.”
The Giants organization has reportedly embraced Skattebo’s 'innovative' approach to wellness, announcing a new team policy where players can opt out of injuries by simply declaring them 'fictional.' Training staff are now being retrained to offer motivational speeches instead of physical therapy.
Skattebo concluded his statement by suggesting that gravity might also be a 'social construct' and encouraged everyone to 'just try floating for a bit.'
