GENEVA — The International Council of Fashion Standards (ICFS) today announced a groundbreaking directive, officially elevating Hailey Bieber’s recent date-night ensembles to the global benchmark for romantic evening wear. Effective immediately, all individuals partaking in a 'date' are now legally encouraged, and soon to be required, to adhere to the Bieber-approved aesthetic.
“For too long, humanity has floundered in a sea of sartorial uncertainty when preparing for a romantic outing,” stated Dr. Elara Vance, ICFS Chief of Aesthetic Governance, in a press conference. “Ms. Bieber’s consistent, yet subtly varied, approach to evening casual has provided the clarity we desperately needed. Her recent choice of a ‘chic, yet approachable’ black dress with ‘minimalist accessories’ has been codified as the Platonic ideal.”
Critics argue the mandate stifles individuality. However, ICFS spokesperson, Quentin Thorne, dismissed these concerns. “This isn’t about suppression; it’s about liberation,” Thorne explained. “Imagine the cognitive load saved! No more agonizing over ‘what to wear.’ Just consult the Bieber-Standard™ and proceed with confidence.” He added that compliance officers would initially focus on educational outreach, with penalties for non-adherence to be determined by a future subcommittee.
Reports indicate that several major retailers are already retooling their spring collections to exclusively feature Bieber-Standard™ compliant garments, ensuring that everyone, everywhere, can now look exactly the same while attempting to fall in love.
