LUDINGTON, MI – The Ludington Area Center for the Arts (LACA) has boldly declared its full summer concert lineup for 2026, signaling an unprecedented level of optimism regarding the continued function of human civilization and the local arts economy.
In an era where most individuals struggle to plan their grocery list more than three days in advance, LACA has committed to a robust schedule of musical acts for a period two years hence. The announcement, released Tuesday, includes acts like the regional tribute band “Fleetwood Mac n’ Cheese” and the up-and-coming avant-garde polka collective “The Accordion to Science,” all slated for performances in July and August of 2026.
“While we acknowledge the inherent unpredictability of, well, everything, we believe in the power of advance planning,” stated LACA Executive Director Brenda Carlisle. “Our board conducted extensive risk assessments, factoring in a 1.7% margin for catastrophic societal collapse, a 0.5% margin for alien invasion, and a 4% margin for a sudden, unexplained loss of interest in live music. We’re confident our projections will hold.” Carlisle further elaborated that securing these acts so far out ensures “competitive rates, assuming the global financial system hasn’t been replaced by a bartering economy of artisanal bread and salvaged microchips by then.”
Industry experts were quick to weigh in on LACA's forward-thinking strategy. Dr. Quentin Finch, Head of Temporal Event Logistics at the Institute for Preemptive Cultural Development, noted, “This is an incredibly audacious move. Most organizations are currently engaged in a desperate sprint to just confirm next quarter’s Zoom meeting schedule. To lock in a full concert series for 2026 suggests either unparalleled foresight or a profound lack of awareness regarding the accelerating pace of global instability. Frankly, it’s refreshing to see someone plan beyond tomorrow’s inevitable headline.”
The Center has already begun selling early-bird season passes, which, according to their press release, are “non-refundable under any circumstances, including but not limited to, civil unrest, meteor strike, or the total dissolution of the state of Michigan into a sovereign, tech-bro micro-nation.”
Ticket holders are encouraged to keep their schedules clear, their hopes high, and their emergency bunkers well-stocked for the summer of 2026.
