BAKERSFIELD, CA – Following revelations that a former assistant basketball coach allegedly operated a prostitution ring, Cal State Bakersfield has announced the immediate launch of a new academic initiative: the 'Entrepreneurial Spirit and Alternative Revenue Streams' program. The university, currently embroiled in an investigation into the coach's activities, stated the program aims to harness the 'unorthodox business acumen' displayed.
“While we absolutely do not condone illegal activities, we cannot ignore the sheer audacity and logistical prowess demonstrated,” said Dr. Evelyn Thorne, interim Dean of Strategic Innovation, in a press conference. “This individual managed multiple revenue streams, client acquisition, and personnel management, all while maintaining a demanding coaching schedule. That’s synergy, folks.”
The new program, tentatively housed within the School of Business, will offer courses such as 'Disruptive Market Entry: Identifying Untapped Niches,' 'Advanced Client Relationship Management (CRM) in High-Stakes Environments,' and 'Navigating Regulatory Hurdles: A Case Study Approach.' Enrollment is expected to be competitive, with early interest noted from students across various disciplines.
“We’re looking for students who aren’t afraid to think outside the box, or perhaps, outside the law, and then learn how to stay within it,” added Thorne. “It’s about understanding the hustle, then refining it for legitimate enterprise.” The university confirmed that the former coach, currently under investigation, has not been invited to lecture, but his 'methodologies' will be thoroughly examined.
Sources close to the athletic department suggest the program's first major project might involve optimizing concession stand profits during basketball games.
