CAPE CANAVERAL, FL — Following a record-setting February that saw SpaceX deploy 83 new Starlink satellites into low Earth orbit, the company has unveiled an ambitious new 'Starter Pack' for customers eager to experience the full, unadulterated glow of thousands of orbiting internet providers. The package, available for a one-time fee of $499, promises to deliver a minimum of 20 direct Starlink satellite passes over a customer's property each night, significantly impacting local stargazing and general atmospheric clarity.
“We understand some people are still attached to the concept of seeing, you know, ‘stars,’” stated Gwynne Shotwell, SpaceX President and COO, in a recent press release. “But frankly, those are just unoptimized data points. Our new Starter Pack ensures you’re not just looking at dead space; you’re looking at progress. And if that progress happens to occasionally resemble a slow-moving, intensely bright string of pearls, that’s just the future saying hello.”
Astronomers have expressed mild concern, noting that the rapidly increasing number of satellites is making ground-based observations increasingly difficult. Dr. Elara Vance, head of the Celestial Purity Initiative, commented, “It’s getting to the point where distinguishing a distant galaxy from Elon Musk’s Wi-Fi is a genuine professional hazard. Soon, the only clear view of the cosmos will be from a Starship.”
SpaceX maintains that the benefits of global internet connectivity far outweigh the aesthetic inconvenience of turning the night sky into a digital billboard. Future plans reportedly include a 'Premium Blackout' tier for those who truly want to escape the tyranny of natural light.
