LONDON – In a bold move to 'streamline user experience' and 'monetize engagement,' major social media platforms are reportedly rolling out a premium subscription service for individuals wishing to hurl racist abuse at public figures, particularly athletes. The initiative comes after reports of Wolves striker Tolu Arokodare and Sunderland winger Romaine Mundle receiving online hate, prompting platforms to recognize a 'significant, untapped market segment.'
Dubbed 'Hate-Plus' by insiders, the new tier will offer subscribers perks such as priority comment visibility, an expanded library of racially charged emojis, and a 'Hate-Bot' feature that automatically generates and posts offensive remarks on trending athlete profiles. A spokesperson for 'Global Digital Toxicity Solutions,' Dr. Brenda Fester, stated, 'Our data clearly shows a consistent, high-volume demand for online racial vitriol. By offering a subscription model, we're not only acknowledging our most passionate users but also creating a sustainable revenue stream to fund our ongoing, albeit often performative, moderation efforts.'
Sources within the 'Department of Internet Ethics and Monetization' confirmed that a 'Platinum Bigot' tier is also in development, which will include a dedicated 'Target Identification Algorithm' to pinpoint athletes most likely to be affected by specific types of abuse. 'It’s about efficiency,' explained Chad 'The Algorithm Whisperer' Kincaid, Senior Vice President of User Engagement for a prominent platform. 'Why waste time scrolling when our AI can deliver the perfect target, right to your fingertips, for a nominal monthly fee?' Critics, largely ignored, suggest the move might inadvertently encourage more hate speech.
