WASHINGTON D.C. – Amidst swirling speculation, former President Donald Trump’s potential pick for Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, is reportedly poised to transform the Pentagon into a formidable front in the nation’s ongoing 'culture wars.' Insiders suggest that traditional military threats, such as Iran, are being re-prioritized as 'distractions' from the more pressing domestic ideological conflicts.
According to a leaked memo from the newly formed 'Strategic Ideological Purity Command' (SIPC), the Pentagon’s primary mission under Hegseth would pivot from global security to rooting out 'woke' sentiments within the armed forces. 'Our greatest enemy isn't some rogue state with a nuclear program,' stated General Thaddeus 'Bulwark' McAllister, head of SIPC, in a classified briefing. 'It’s the insidious creeping of critical race theory into our mess halls and gender-neutral pronouns into our drill sergeants’ cadences. Iran can wait; the soul of America cannot.'
Defense analysts are scrambling to understand the implications. Dr. Penelope 'Pundit' Peterson, a Senior Fellow at the Institute for Absurd Geopolitics, noted, 'Historically, the Pentagon has focused on tanks, planes, and intercontinental ballistic missiles. Now, they’re reportedly investing heavily in 'anti-indoctrination' seminars and 'patriotism-enhancement' algorithms for drone operators. It’s certainly a novel approach to national security, though perhaps not one that will deter actual ballistic missiles.'
Recruitment efforts are also expected to shift, with new emphasis on 'ideological fitness' over traditional combat skills. A recent internal survey indicated 87% of potential recruits were more concerned about 'pronoun proliferation' than 'proliferation of nuclear weapons.'
