DETROIT, MI – In a move that has sent ripples of mild confusion across the league, the NFL has awarded the Detroit Lions a fifth-round compensatory pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, not for losing a star player, but reportedly for the franchise's sheer, unyielding perseverance in remaining a professional football team.
