SHENZHEN, CHINA – Zepp Health, the company behind the Amazfit T-Rex Ultra 2 smartwatch, has quietly confirmed that its latest wearable includes a 'Doomsday Prepper Mode' designed to function optimally during global catastrophes. The device, lauded for its extreme durability and long battery life, is now marketed as the essential accessory for anyone anticipating the imminent breakdown of civilization.
“While other smartwatches are busy tracking your steps to the office, the T-Rex Ultra 2 is calculating your optimal foraging routes through irradiated landscapes,” stated Zepp Health spokesperson, Ling Wei, during a virtual press conference held from an undisclosed, presumably fortified, bunker. “Its 10 ATM water resistance isn't just for swimming; it’s for when the sea levels rise. Its military-grade toughness? That’s for when the military isn't exactly on your side anymore.”
Among the new features are an 'Emergency Barter Calculator,' a 'Fungus Identification App' for sustainable nutrition, and a 'Social Credit Score Scrubber' for post-apocalyptic reputation management. The watch also boasts an 'EMP-resistant' casing, ensuring it will still tell you the time even if all other electronics have been rendered useless. Critics, however, question the practicality of a smartwatch in a world without charging infrastructure.
“We’ve included a hand-crank charger, obviously,” Wei clarified, gesturing vaguely. “And if you lose the crank, well, that’s just natural selection.”
