WASHINGTON D.C. – A coalition of the nation's tallest women has formally petitioned Congress for immediate federal funding to address what they describe as a 'catastrophic deficit' in summer outfit inspiration. The group, represented by the newly formed 'Legs for Days Lobby,' argues that existing fashion guidance overwhelmingly caters to the 'vertically challenged,' leaving those over 5'9" to navigate summer trends in a state of sartorial abandonment.
"For too long, we have been forced to cobble together looks from blog posts clearly written for people who can find a maxi dress that actually reaches their ankles," stated Cassandra Long, a spokesperson for the lobby, during a press conference held strategically near a very high podium. "Our unique challenges—like finding shorts that don't double as belts or sleeves that extend past the elbow—are consistently ignored. This isn't just about fashion; it's about national morale."
The proposed 'Tall Girl Summer Inspo Act' would establish a Department of Vertical Fashion, tasked with commissioning bespoke style guides and ensuring that at least 15% of all online 'inspo' content features models who require custom-length inseams. Critics, primarily from the 'Petite Power Alliance,' argue that resources should first be allocated to finding pants that don't drag on the floor.
However, Long remains steadfast. "We just want to look effortlessly chic while reaching the top shelf without a step stool. Is that too much to ask of a functioning society?"
