EAST HOLLYWOOD – A man involved in a serious car crash early Tuesday morning was apprehended by authorities after fleeing the scene completely nude, leaving behind a trail of bewildered onlookers and, according to preliminary reports, a fleeting but significant uplift in local real estate perceptions.

The unidentified individual, described by witnesses as 'unencumbered by societal norms and textiles,' reportedly exited his vehicle following a multi-car pile-up on Santa Monica Boulevard at approximately 2:17 AM. He then proceeded to sprint eastward, reportedly maintaining a consistent 12-15 mph pace for nearly three blocks before being detained by officers from the East Hollywood Bureau of Public Decorum.

"While the immediate concern was public safety and the integrity of the crash investigation, we did note an unusual uptick in Zillow 'saved searches' within a 150-foot radius of the suspect's sprint path," stated Dr. Penelope Finch, Lead Anthropological Economist for the City Planning Department's Division of Ephemeral Market Fluctuations. "It appears the sheer audacity of the event, coupled with the unexpected visual stimulus, momentarily distracted potential buyers from the usual concerns of traffic noise and property taxes."

Local resident Mildred Jenkins, 87, who witnessed the spectacle from her porch, remarked, "He certainly moved with purpose. You don't see that kind of conviction in a man, clothed or otherwise, very often. Made me think about repainting my fence, honestly." The suspect is currently being held on charges including hit-and-run, public indecency, and temporarily distorting the local housing market.
