SEOUL – Global phenomenon BTS has unveiled plans for their fifth studio album, 'Arirang,' which will be directly uploaded into the minds of their devoted fanbase via proprietary neural interface technology. The move, announced yesterday by HYBE Corporation, promises to revolutionize music consumption by eliminating the 'cumbersome' steps of pressing play or even opening one's eyes.
'We believe true immersion means bypassing the auditory canal altogether,' stated Dr. Jin-woo Park, lead neuro-audio engineer for HYBE. 'Fans will not just hear 'Arirang'; they will *experience* it as a fundamental component of their consciousness. Early trials show a 98% retention rate, and a 100% reduction in the need for physical headphones.' Critics, however, have raised concerns about the potential for involuntary encore performances during critical brain functions.
The album drop on March 20 will be followed by a 'World Consciousness Tour,' where the group will perform live, but only to a select audience of neuroscientists monitoring brain activity. A subsequent Netflix special, 'BTS: The Synaptic Journey,' will then document the entire process, including exclusive footage of the band members staring intently at brain scans.
'It's about connecting on a level previously unimaginable,' said a HYBE spokesperson, adding that pre-orders for the neural implants have already surpassed 50 million units. The company confirmed that the implants are designed to be 'largely non-removable' to ensure optimal fan engagement.
